Norman Apel Koop
Reverend Norman A. Koop, beloved pastor for more than 25 years, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 7th. While we grieve for those he left behind, we know that everything happens according to God’s plan.
“For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.” Philippians 1:21
As we grieve the death of our beloved pastor, please know that the Sunday School class, the morning and evening worship services will be led by various individuals including members of our congregation and visiting teachers and pastors. The congregation, led by the Elders, is in the process of discussing next steps, as led by the Lord. In all things we give glory to Him whose plan is perfect.
First Congregational is a church where you will find reverent, Christ-centered worship; warm, caring fellowship; and a commitment to evangelism and missions.
We are an independent church, not affiliated with any denomination. Our doctrine is Reformed Evangelical.
We are a relatively large church for the Upper Valley of Vermont/New Hampshire in rural New England, with roughly 200 active members. Approximately 275 people join us for worship each Sunday morning, which includes a bus load of Dartmouth students who worship with us every Sunday that college is in session. We welcome many tourists and visitors each Sunday as well.
Our evening service is at 6:00pm and is a more informal style with hymns, testimonies and prayer requests, followed by a message. All welcome!
The full version of the Glorious Hymns CD (recorded in our sanctuary with our church musicians) is available in the narthex of the church.
